1. Organising authority
The organising authority is Cotswold Sailing Club.
2. Rules
The rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) will govern this regatta.
Cotswold Sailing Club has adopted The R.Y.A Racing Charter.
3. Classes and eligibility
Racing will take place in Comet doublehanded dinghies, namely Comet Trio Mk1, Comet Trio Mk2, Comet Race, Comet Versa, Comet Duo and Comet Zero.
The Comet Trio Mk1 will be treating this as their Inland Championship. The Other classes may also do so if they have 3 or more entrants.
All boats must comply with the Comet Combined Class Association rules
4. Times
Gates will open from 0830 on 7th & 8th June 2025 for the weekend racing. The racing forms part of the Comet Festival taking place at Cotswold from the 5th to the 10th of June 2025.
Tea and Bacon Butties will be available from 9.30am or thereabouts on the weekend race days. This is included within the entry fee for competitors.
Registration will take place at Cotswold Sailing Club from 09.30 to 10.30am on the 7th June
Payment in cash or by bank transfer
There will be a briefing for competitors in the vicinity of the race office at 10:00 hours, or as soon as possible afterwards.
First race is scheduled to start at 11.00 hours on the 7th and 0930 on the 8th.

The Race Schedule
The number of races and timing is indicative and will depend on weather conditions. All Visitors attending Open Events at Cotswold S.C. are kindly reminded that upon arrival all boats must be rinsed in the boat wash area.
5. Entries
The entry fee for the event is £35.00 which includes, for competitors, on both the 7th and 8th a breakfast bacon bap, sandwiches and cake at lunch time and hot drinks throughout the day. Non competitors may purchase items from the galley. There will be an organised meal on the Saturday evening at £10 per head – all competitors and supporters welcome.
The racing days form part of the Comet Festival taking place at Cotswold from the 5th to the 10th of June 2025 the fee for which is £35. The race fee is included in the Comet Festival fee and so only one £35 is payable per boat (2 people). Supporters are welcome at £17.50 per person. Camping in tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes around the lake is available to competitors and their supporters and those at the festival at £5 per person per night
All competitors under the age of 18 years at the time of the event are required to complete a parental declaration form, signed by their parent or guardian, in addition to an entry form. The parental declaration form will be available at registration.
6. Sailing Instructions
Sailing Instructions have been sent to / published by the class association but will also be available upon registration at Cotswold Sailing Club from 09.30 hours.
7. Racing Area
The racing area will be as defined in the Sailing Instructions.
8. Rights to Use Names and Likenesses
By signing the entry form, competitors automatically grant to the organising authority, without payment, the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of all media relating to the event. They also allow their names, age category, club and boat details to be displayed in competitors lists prior to the event and in results, on the Costwold Sailing Club website and in other subsequent publications.
9. Prizes, other than perennial trophies, are to be provided by the host club.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 3 finishers in each class. There will also be at least one random prize drawn for, for those attending the event
10. Coaches & Supporters
No coach or support boats will be permitted. Coaches & supporters accompanying competitors are required to comply with the principles of good sportsmanship and behaviour, the rules of Cotswold Sailing Club and the Combined Comet Class Association dinghy class. Failure to do so may result in investigation by the regatta organisers, and potentially in an instruction to leave the premises of Cotswold Sailing Club, disqualification, etc.
11. Safety
Please be aware that personal flotation must be worn by anyone going onto the launching area, this is a vital safety rule of Cotswold SC.
12. Points system
There are 6 races scheduled with the best four results to count. If only 5 races are run then 3 races to count, if only 4 races then 3 to count and if less than 3 races then all to count. One race is required to be completed to constitute an event.
The low points system as provided in RRS Appendix A will apply on the days of the event.
13. Insurance
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a
minimum cover of £5,000,000 for any one accident and shall sign a declaration to that effect
before going afloat.
