CCCA and Cody Sailing Club Dinghy Cruising Open Meeting – September 2026

NOTICE OF Intention to Dinghy Cruise

  1. The CCCA and Cody Sailing Club Dinghy Cruising Weekend will be held at Poole Yacht Club, Poole, Dorset on Saturday – Sunday, 26th and 27th September 2026. The organising authority is Cody Sailing Club.
  2. Dinghy Cruising will be governed by the normal rules of the sea.
  3. Participants will be honorary members of Cody Sailing Club for the duration of the event and by entering, agree to be governed by the Cody Sailing Club Rules.
  4. The Dinghy Cruising Weekend is for members of the CCCA and Cody Sailing Club
  5. Boats may be left, and rigged from 15:30 on the Friday afternoon before.
  6. We have been invited to hold a participants dinner at Poole YC on the Saturday evening, details will be arranged nearer the time.

Briefing:

09:30 on Saturday and 09:30 on Sunday

Start times Saturday: Dinghy Cruising about 10am, expect to sail all day. We will work out where to sail based on prevailing conditions.

(6) Participants will enter by completing an official entry form on the Cody Sailing Club website, and

  • agree to pay the fee of £20 retrospectively per boat per day. We will only plan to run the weekend if there is a decent chance of sailing, and we will pay after the weekend. Please only sign up if you intend to attend.
  • agree that you will have the competence to reef afloat, and the boat will be rigged to reef afloat.
  • That the event organisers shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, howsoever caused to the owner/participant or crew because of their taking part in the dinghy cruising event. Moreover, every owner/participant warrants the suitability of his boat for the event.
  • That the safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/participant racing the boat.
  • That the event will be run using the safety management policy of Cody Sailing Club, which puts different responsibilities on participants than racing does. Please see https://codysailingclub.co.uk/skipper-responsibilities/
  • There will be no safety boat cover at this event.
