Description of the vessel and condition
Things that come with the boat – condition of the cover, undercover, towing cover, rudder, rudder bag and so on. Outboard mounting pad? Reefing lines, Righting Lines…
Description of the sails, manufacturer and condition
Description of the Trolley/Trailer, manufacturer and condition, including tyre dates, lighting board, number of pins on the lighting board and so on
Description of the engine
Price
Whether you are prepared to deliver it, and how far you’d be prepared to deliver it.
It’s always nice to know the history of the boat, or history of you and the boat (competitions won, adventures accomplished) and so on.
And then, as many photos as you want – the more photos the easier it is for a prospective buyer to assess the boat, sails, ancillary equipment and so on.

For Sale Comet Versa 275, Chertsey in Surrey
Boat in cruising setup ie no spinnaker and with centre main. Condition is good overall with no fading of gel coat. Boom up cover in fair condition and good for some years yet. Rudder in good condition but no bag. Outboard pad. Reefing lines. Two part paddle and hand bailer.
Aluminium bands of bilge keels
Sails in good clean condition stored in loft during out of season
Combi trailer. Wheels on trolley and road trailer good. Jockey wheel can be swapped between trolley and trailer to facilitate manouvering of both and T hook into towing hitch makes it easy.
Lighting board.
Have 3.3 Mariner outboard which can be negotiated separately if wanted.

I am after a good North MK1 main and Jib for my Comet Trio, I would be very prepared to travel as I am not in a position to buy a new set of sails at this point.
Comet Versa 249 – East Grinstead, West Sussex, £2,800
One careful owner, in excellent condition for its age (21yo). Red hull, gelcoat faded where exposed to sunlight.
Cruising setup, with Iroko on gunwales, metal strips on bilge keel. Outboard motor pad. Lockers fore and aft. Aft mainsheet. No gennaker. Boom up cover. Road trailer with good tyres. Separate trolley (not a combi). Undercover for use when towing.
Wanted: Comet Versa Sails
My home club has an abandoned Versa in its dinghy park which once we jet washed it is in really decent condition. Trailer, trolley, spars, folis all there but no sails. We would like to use it as an ideal club training boat but would rather avoid buying brand new sails. Could I put up a wanted advert in case any owners have more than one suit of sails and we could buy their spare sails.
