Description of the Trolley/Trailer, manufacturer and condition, including tyre dates (there is a life expectancy on trailer tyres, the date of manufacture is printed in an oval), lighting board, number of pins on the lighting board plug and so on
Description of the engine
Price
Whether you are prepared to deliver it, and how far you’d be prepared to deliver it.
It’s always nice to know the history of the boat, or history of you and the boat (competitions won, adventures accomplished) and so on.
And then, as many photos as you want – the more photos the easier it is for a prospective buyer to assess the boat, sails, ancillary equipment and so on.

For Sale – Versa 249 – West Sussex – £2750 (Ad placed Sept 2026)
Comet Versa sail number 249 for sale. One careful owner – who is finally retiring after 55 years of dinghy sailing!
I have owned the boat since 2004. It’s in excellent condition, apart from some fading of the gelcoat caused by exposure to sunshine.
The boat is rigged for cruising (so no spinnaker), with iroko rubbing strips, hatches fore and aft, outboard motor mounting, aft mainsheeting.
There is a launch trolley and road trailer, with an undercover when trailing. The boom up cover has been replaced several times over the years and would benefit from either a deep clean (I jetwash it) or a new one.
It lives at Crawley Mariners YC in Felbridge near East Grinstead, West Sussex.
Asking price is £2,750. I also have a lot of sailing gear, inc male and female drysuits, buoyancy aids, shoes, gloves etc to be sold separately.

I have a Bramber launching trolley for my Comet Duo and I am looking for a combi road trailer to take this launching trolley or perhaps a complete road and trolley combi for the Duo, if the price and condition were reasonable, and location not an excessive distance from Reading.
